Description

František Drdla (1868-1944) was a prominent Czech concert violinist and composer of light music. He wrote over 250 salon pieces, mostly for violin and piano. Drdla wrote this “Serenade” in 1901 and dedicated it to his friend violinist Jan Kubelík who performed it constantly on tour in Europe and the US and it was often called the ‘Kubelík’ Serenade.

The Kat Trio performs “Serenade” at the First United Methodist Church, Madison, Wisconsin.
